Won't Trade my Reality~

The title is a line from Tiffany Giardina's "No Average Angel," I thought it fit.

Man, this was so fun. The lines and coloring were a pain in the butt for the most part, but god was making the background, light, and shading so much fun. I even began to forget that this was for a contest.

I really liked how I made the illusion of a photo with the glare near the sun in the back. I also liked how you could tell that they were really having a good time, and Nara and Starria were really making eye contact as if in a real conversation. The tails came out perfectly. The best part is that I didn't use the curve tool once in this. It was literally all made by me dragging my mouse around. But I had probably the most fun I've ever had drawing making this.

Ahaha, I get so off-topic. This is for an Artist vs. Artist (AvA) contest at #Elementiiae. My theme to base the drawing on was dusk. I got really nervous as I looked at my opponent, *Lunar-Wind's Gallery. Man, did I have some tough competition. But I'm confident that this piece will at least be acknowledged for effort. I put my heart and soul into this.

I wish best of luck to my opponent, but I also hope I win at least one round! I mean, the prize for winning just one round is 100 friggin Points. I don't care if I win round one then get knocked out. One. Hundred. Points. That would put me even closer to a Premium Membership.

Wow, I just realized that Round One literally started just as I got on the computer earlier. About an hour and fifteen minutes ago. Wow. The due date is July 31st. Ahaha.
